Some people have asked what kinds of material the church history library is seeking. As a church service missionary I am working on a special project on the hisotry of the church in French Polynesia. I have reviewed what is already on file and know what time periods we are missing information. As noted I am seeking any written historical information, pictures and journals from former mission presidents, temple presidents and missionaries who served in Tahiti as well as information about the members and branches, wards and stakes. Many people have already donated materials. We are grateful for your generosity. When there are no access restrictions from the donor, I can share them with interested members. Copies are being made and sent to Roger Malarde in Tahiti, who is the area historian. There are plans for a local archive in Papeete. Roger and I will be preparing some historical material to be put on the future Church French Polynesian website. The donations can be in several forms. 1. Permanent donation in which case a copy is made and given to the donor. 2. Materials on loan for the church history library to make a copy for the library and the originals are returned to the donor. 3. Temporary loan of materials, which are then returned to the donor.
