To date, I am just finishing up school at the University of Utah. I will graduate this May with degrees in Asian Studies, Chinese, and Linguistics. I have been married for a little over 2 1/2 years, and I have a 18 month old daughter. I work for a company called Attensity as a computational linguist, which means I help programmers to write programs that allow computers to understand natural languages (i.e., English, French, German, Chinese, etc.). I was recently accepted to a Chinese language program taught at Qinghua University in Beijing but chose not to attend this year. My plan is to continue working for a couple of years after which I hope to go to graduate school where I will pursue a MA in Computational Linguistics and then a PhD in Historical Linguistics with an emphasis on Chinese, Mongolian and Manchu languages.
