We loved our time (Jan 87 - Jul 90) in the Taipei English Branch, in Shihlin, as well as the wonderful missionaries and members who were like family to us.
Trudy had been one of the first foreigners baptized in the Taipei English branch, Nov 81. She left summer 83, then I spent summer 84 there; we then met at BYU, married in 85, and returned to Taipei to seek our fortune. Our English teaching was a great experience, but the best was.... our four Ami kids!
We adopted our #1, a daughter, in 88 (from Taipei County), #2, a boy, in 89 (from Hualien), both newborns. Back in Utah, 92 brought us newborn #3, also a son from Hualien. In 2004, we found out he had a younger sister, now an orphan, and one more miracle brought #4 to us.
Now our older son, 19, has received his mission call, to TAIWAN (Kaohsiung). We are so thankful for the memories Taiwan has meant for us, and now look forward to its being part of our family's present and future.
