In August of 2005, my husband and I moved to a northern suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. My kids, age 4 and 2, are the best thing that ever happened to me - yep, they even eclipse my mission, and that is saying a lot! Katie will start kindergarten in the fall - you'll recognize me as the sobbing mom in the parking lot. Makes me think about how hard it must have been for Heavenly Father to send us off to "school."
My son Cole is a nut and likes to keep me on my toes - we've made several visits to the emergency room already. He has a set of stitches for each year of life. My husband says that they make Cole look manly.
As for me, I work from home with as the project director for the Georgia Parents as Teachers Network (Parents as Teachers is an awesome non-profit nation-wide program - think missionary work for parents instead of potential converts). I am lucky to be able to be a stay at home mom and do work I love. I plan to start graduate school in May '07, but I may shoot myself instead. Both decisions are clear signs of insanity.
Doug, my husband, works for GE. I can't tell you anything else because he does one of those tech type jobs that make most peoples' eyes glaze because we simply cannot fanthom all the computer guts stuff he understands. He is my personal "Geek Squad." I am grateful for him in my life and our marriage is a direct result of my mission.... but that's a story for another day. Suffice to say, I am blessed to be sealed to such an awesome man.
Much love to comps and mission friends. I miss you guys and think of you often, especially those from the MTC. (Two months in close quarters will do that to you.) God bless and keep in contact! |
