It was my great privilege to be one of the first six elders to arrive in Thailand and to have a marvelous adventure serving the Lord there in those very early days. All of Southeast Asia was part of the Southern Far East Mission with headquarters in Hong Kong. When I was called to go to Thailand, I had been serving for eighteen months in Hong Kong, and my five companions had all been serving in Taiwan. Fortunately we had all been called to serve thirty-month missions, and that meant that I would have about one precious year in Thailand (I was the first one to complete my mission and return home). The Lord blessed us greatly in what seemed to be impossible. Some of the greatest miracles and most profound spiritual experiences of my life came to pass during those months. My gratitude to the Lord for His tender mercies and great blessings is immense.
My wife Carol and I have four children and fourteen grandchildren. |
