I loved Venezuela so much I took my family to Oriente '93-'99. We lived in Barcelona, Puerto la Cruz, Anaco, and Maturin. One of our greatest blessings was getting to know and work with many of the members throughout the Barcelona Mission area, especially helping more of the young men and women get out on a mission. The seeds planted over these last three decades have brought forth much fruit, including many new "sowers."
My wife is a convert from New York. I majored in Spanish, she majored in Chinese; we both became ESL teachers, then spent four years teaching in Taiwan, where we adopted our three children. Chessie is 13, Albert 12, and David 9 --some of the cutest Spanish-speaking gringo-Chinese you'll ever meet!
One of my favorite sayings: "Life is a journey, not a camp --too many people are camping."
