Comments:
After completing my commission, I went back to Mesa Arizona and completed my study at ASU (majoring in Accounting, and Computer Information Systems). Graduated in 1989, joined a CPA firm and then Motorola then developed a strong desire to go to China (had never been there prior to that time) and started approaching the company for potential opportunities.

Got married to Justine Hopkins in 88 and had our first child Amy in 89. Later we had Dallin and Benjamin. Have been living in China since 1994, and had 2 more kids.. Justin and Michael. We decided then to adopt (just to be sure we can have more girls)... adopted Samantha from Guangdong province. We have been fostering another lovely "daughter" from the Tianjin orphanage, Emma. However, the adoption is still in progress and she is not ours yet....but she is like our own.

Sincing coming to China on a long term assignment with Motorola in 1994, one assignment had become two and two become three. I finally left Motorola and joined United Technologies - Otis Elevators in 2002. My family fist lived in Beijing and later in Tianjin in 1998 (100 miles from Beijing). This happens to be the place where my parents were born. My (Cheung, mandarin prounciation is Zhang) ancestors have been here since 1401. We are members of Tianjin Branch, China International District. The branch used to meet at our home and now we have a more proper place for meeting.

We are always thrilled when friends and families can come to visit. Hope I will have the opportunity to see some of my old friends from the mission.

LDS QUOTE:
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lord's work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
- Elder L. Tom Perry
Ensign, Nov. 2001
