A N G E L S U N K N O W I N G
I walked alone and fought and fought and lost and lost.
Each loss drove me more alone and took my hope.
But a loving Father watched me with a perfect Father's love
And carefully, oh so carefully, found friend and friend
And guided them to me. Patiently he warmed my heart,
Coaxing it to open and believe that even I might hold
Some spark of Him, some worth that lasted beyond
Count of days or reach of years. And to find
That there were those who cared and who would
Help me walk this path. With your help, dear friend,
I found a victory, at last, and hope came new.
Finally I could dream of winning the greatest
Battle of them all; Maybe even I could walk again
The sacred halls of Home and kneel at the feet
And cry in the arms of He who sits on the
Everlasting throne; and hear the words:
Well done, my son, your place is here. Come home. |
