Dear Everybody:
I received a phone call from Don Wilke saying that Sister Naomi Ben-Asa has died from cancer. She was the widow of Rabbi Moshe Ben-Asa, who was baptized in July 1975; he died in February 1976 from leukemia.
Those of us who served in the Mesa/Tempe area will never forget Sister B., her marvelous cooking--I still remember sitting back at the table, stuffed to the gills, only to hear her say, "Eat, Elder, eat! I do not want that you should go away hungry.!"--and her marvelous advice. She was truly the good Jewish mother to us all.
She will be missed.

Does Anyone....ANYONE have her recipe. We all had our "day" to eat at her house every week and I am JoNeSiN' for 'em. I served from 91 - 93 and she lived in Superior I believe. Maybe Miami.....*sigh* my memory fails me. Lemme know okay? Thanks tons....

Hi... I lived in the Tempe Mission and was baptized March of 1983. I drove a LOT of Elders crazy by investigating for TOO long...but now wanted to say "thanks" for staying with it!! I have my oldest 2 sons on missions - one in Texas and the other in Florida! I am looking for I believe Elder Oaks and Elder Ferguson (?) and one other... shoot I cannot remember the name. My brother in law was a member and baptized me so I don't have it written down anywhere (I was a "journal flunkie" back then... thanks!

Hey Jake, thanks for your hard work. If nothing else it got some of us thinking about our missions and old memories again. More importantly it helped serve as a reminder to the McKonkies that they are loved and appreciated, I really doubt they realize the overall impact they have had in so many lives.

I just met with Pres. McConkie for about an hour. we discusseed a wide range of reunion issues. The final conclusion we came to was that we needed to cancel the reunion. It was a nice thought but it turned out to not be as practical as i had hoped. Pres.
