Napa Valley Relay 28 May 2013
I served in the Spanish Program from 1998-2000. I have made it back to San Fran twice. Once when my brother was doing consulting work for a Stanford Univerisity research project and once for a cousin's wedding reception in Antioch. My next time their will be to run the Napa Valley Ragnar Relay the 20th of September. I didn't make it up to Petaluma on the last two trips out so this is really exciting to be running through an area I served for 3 months. I have learned from the past two trips that the Spanish Ward have a lot of turn over, but am hoping to reconect to at least one member from the mission on this trip.

Elder Murphy 18 May 2010
Alan Murphy 1941 ~ 2010 Alan Keith Murphy, 69, died on May 13, 2010 at his home in Bountiful, Utah surrounded by his beloved wife and family. Alan was born February 8, 1941 in McGill, Nevada, to Keith C. and Winona Murphy. He was raised in McGill and graduated from White Pine High School in 1959. From an early age, he enjoyed playing a variety of instruments and marching with the band throughout the western United States. He served an LDS mission in Florida from 1961-1963. The new couple made their home in Provo where he finished his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University in 1967. After graduation, the family moved to Bountiful, Utah, where Alan started what became a 32-year career with Amoco Oil Company in Salt Lake City. Alan and Janet were blessed with seven children who were the joy of his life. Alan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in a variety of callings throughout his life. He especially enjoyed serving as branch president at the Barton Creek assisted living center. Alan fulfilled a lifelong goal of serving a full-time mission with his eternal companion. The couple served from July 2003 to January 2005 in the California San Francisco Mission. Alan was loved and respected by all who knew him for his gentle nature and his willingness to serve others. Alan is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janet; his children, Kevin (Cynthia), Steven (Colleen), Barbara (Brent) Quist, Mark (Whitney), Todd (Maryann), Craig (Heather), and Laura (Neil) Huefner; 28 grandchildren; and his sister Denice (John) Barainca. Passing of Carlito dela Cruz 08 Apr 2008
Dear Friends,
We are sorry to announce the passing of Carlito Dela Cruz. He served in the Tagalog Program from 2003 to 2005. He died of cardiac arrest last Friday, April 4, 2008. He is well-loved for his cheerfulness and optimism, among many other good qualities he has. My words cannot give justice to the goodness of his man. We witnessed his sealing with his dear wife less than 2 years ago. He is survived by his wife and their baby.

If anyone would like to send any expression of condolences, please let me know and I will give you the contact information of the family.

In behalf of the Filipino (returned) missionaries,
Norman Villaroman

Ummmm...........Hi! 30 Jul 2007
Hey everyone, how is it going. Well it has been about two years since I have logged on here, but alas here I am, and here is a quick rundown. I'm still in the Coast Guard but have moved from Connecticut to Hawaii. I know I know poor unfortunate me. Stuck on a tropical island and all that. My wife and I are expecting our first son towards the end of August. And thats about it for now. I will hopefully post some pictures here in a few days, but my track record for doing stuff like this in a speedy manner isn't so good, so expect them in two years. Just kidding .. . . . . . . . . but seriously two years.

George Moleni Is The Man 27 Jul 2007
Everyone remember George Moleni the Tongan? (hi George) It turns out he is quite the arm wrestler. He's ranked in the top five in the country and recently took second place at the National Championships last year.

Here is an article that mentions he picked it up while serving in Petaluma. I served with him there. It must have been the 8 eggs he'd have me cook him every morning.

I'm involved in a multi-level marketing company (and NO! it's not a pyramid scheme!) called GoYin. It sells a very powerfull health drink that uses Chinese medicine techniques. Lost sheep 17 Nov 2006
Hi everyone! I am trying to contact Maria Martinez Payne (a.k.a Lola) from the Bay ward. She was baptized during the summer of 2000 and then later married a member of the SF singles ward. They may have moved away during the summer of 2001. The email address I have no longer works. If you know how to get in touch with her, I would greatly appreciate the info.

A growing experience 05 Nov 2006
Friday night, November 3, 2006, at 9:45 PM, after 5 hours off the life support machines, my newborn son William Christopher Carter passed away in his mother and father's arms. He was surrounded his whole short life span of 5 days by the most loving family and friends, and I want to thank everyone for their support. For those who are able to attend, a memorial will be held on Monday. Please feel free to contact my brother, Jim Carter at eternaldishwasher@yahoo.com for further details if you will be in the Atlanta Georgia area on Monday and wish to join us or for further details. Thank you.
