Comments: Bill and I area still living in Provo, Utah, just 6 houses north of the Temple. He celebrated his 90th birthday in May on a cruise we took to Alaska, his first trip on a ship since taken from Wake Island in 1941 by the Japanese to a POW camp in Shanghai, China where he stayed for 3 1/2 years and then escaped in May of 1945, arriving home in July just before the war ended, after spending 2 months with the Communist Chinese. He wrote this story for our posterity and put it in a binder. This was read by a friend that convinced us it should be shown to a publisher. It was, they liked it, published it in hard cover and ... a book was born. We have maintained contact with many of the people in Bray and I have been back to Ireland twice as discovered that 3 of my father's grandparents were born there. We are busy with our 10 children, 30 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren this holiday season. Would love to hear from any of you Cheers Bill and Barbara Taylor | |
