On July 1, 1974 the name of the mission became the Canada Vancouver Mission. Later that year, on October 15, 1974, the mission was divided and the Alaska Anchorage Mission, comprising all the State of Alaska and the Yukon Territory of Canada, was officially organized. President Killpack came to Anchorage to establish the new mission and continued to serve as President until Howard W. Barben arrived on June 27, 1975.
Weston Foote Killpack, 63, born in Provo, Utah, to Lovell Albert and Hazel Foote Killpack, married Lois Arlene Pope, parents of four children. Members of the South Cottonwood 7th Ward, South Jordan Utah River Ridge Stake. He has served as president of the Canada Vancouver/Alaska Anchorage Mission, stake president's counselor and high counselor a former benefits manager for the Church Educational System. Sister Killpack was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Archie Glen and Fern Croshaw Pope. She is a former Stake Relief Society president's counselor, Ward Relief Society president'scounselor, and Ward Young Womens president. |
