Stories: Well, maybe not so faith-promoting...

This one happened when Thayne and I were companions.
We were working two wards. One ward treated us really well: lots of referrals; talking in Church; lots of visiting with members in their homes; and, of course, dinner appointments. The other ward was exactly the opposite.
One day, Thayne and I were at the local Albertson's doing our weekly shopping, when we noticed the Relief Society president from the exactly-opposite ward come in the store. We immediately went over to the pet-food aisle and waited for her to come by. As soon as she turned the corner, I picked up a can of dog food, looked at the label, and said, "I don't know, Elder. This one may not taste any better than the one we had last night." Thayne took the can from me, looked at the label, and said, "Well, it'll certainly be a lot more nutritious, and ANYTHING is better than your cooking."
Starting the next day, we had lots of dinner appointments in that ward. |
