elder RM 07 Nov 2002
This story was related to me while I was still in the feild and I thought it may inspire others so I wish to share it. At the time this happened I was serving in Needles, which then was part of the San Diego mission. The family's name was the [name removed]. They lived in a trailor just on the AZ side of our area. The family had two daughters. The youngest was maybe 6 or 7 yoa, I'm guessing. Anyway the family suffered a loss one christmas, and lost their youngest daughter to a trailor fire. The mother was devastated by this, and couldn't sleep, and one night received a visit from this daughter who passed on in a dream. The daughter came to her to tell her she was ok and not to worry. In the dream the daughter told her mother that she knew of a way for her family to be together for eternity. She talked with her a little more, then pointed to a lady in the dream and showed her mother a large white biulding, and told her to speak with the lady she pointed to. Her daughter said she can tell you more. Well the mother was still distraught over what she had experienced but she recognized the woman in the dream as her daughters school teacher. So she made a call to the woman and related the experience to her. The girl's teacher was a member of the Needles ward and after hearing what happened thought to go to the bishop who in turn brought it to our attention, and as I recall it was a wednesday night I called the father on the phone and told him that we were Elders, and he proceeded to ask me before I got another word out when he and his family could be baptized. Well to make a long story short, through the efforts of us, the the spirit, and a little girl who had passed on wanting her family together, we not only taught and baptized that family but some extended family members as well. That story is a moment in the history of the San Diego mission that will be remembered by me and those it happened to. I was glad to have been there to see the working of the spirit on this family's life. I hope this story can inspire us all in the way it did me, the family's name was [name removed]. They were last known by me to be living in Needles and may God still be a part of their lives.
