The Toronto temple opened in August, 1990. In December, 1990, the mission surpassed 100 baptisms for the month. During President Smith's administration, three wards and eight branches, including four Spanish-speaking branches were formed. Also, President Smith was instramential in the formation of the Chinese speaking wards and branches in Toronto through Elders Chi Leung and Bill Whiggington who served together for 18 months in Metro Toronto. Yes, they served together for a total of 18 months! |
