Looking for New CCSM Mission.net Webmaster 18 Nov 2011
For almost five years, I have served as the webmaster of the Mission.net site for the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission and administrator of the CCSM Facebook group. It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve in this capacity, as it has allowed me to remember the good times during my missionary service and also the amazing people and beautiful vistas within the mission. However, I feel the time has come where this online community of current missionaries, alumni, and friends of the mission would be better served by my passing the torch to someone willing and able to fulfill the duties of webmaster and administrator of the Mission.net site and Facebook group. I know I've announced this before, but I promise to follow through with it this time.

If you are interested in volunteering for this post, please send me an email at nxtoracle@gmail.com and let me know about yourself and any website design/maintenance experience that you have. The Mission.net site is fairly easily maintained, but some HTML web building experience would be very helpful in the management of the site.

The basic administration of the site and group should be less than 1 hour a week. Regular duties include authorizing posts to the site, responding to password requests and emailed questions, posting reunion details/mission news, and encouraging others to post content such as mission stories, pictures, etc. to both the site and Facebook group.

To quantify the importance of this position, there are over 400 registered users on the Mission.net site, and over 350 members of the Facebook group. The webmaster and administrator will need to ensure that content on both the site and Facebook group adheres to standards that would be expected of members of the site and group.
If you are interested, I hope to hear from you soon!

Thank You,

Joel McDonald

CCSM Missionary Compliment 29 Jan 2009
Was talking to Pres. Pfile the other day and he told me that they will be increasing the complement of missionaries in the CCSM from 150ish to 190ish (perhaps because the mission is doing so well). I just thought that others might be interested to know.

Bikes 31 Aug 2006
I am wondering about riding bikes on the mission. Pretty much I want to know how often I will be in an area where I will need a bike and how often I will have a car. I want to know if it is worth it to buy a really nice bike for my mission. I was talking to an elder here in Hawaii and he said that he was told to buy a bike but he has been in a car for pretty much his whole mission. I am wondering (and perhaps hoping) if the Colorado Springs mission will be similar.
Let me know what you think.

Helpful Hints 27 Dec 2005
Hello everyone. I was just called to the mission and am starting to look at things I need to buy. Does anyone have any advice as to things not listed in the packet that I might need or things that are in there that I may not need? Any advice would be great. Thanks a lot!

Cold weather clothing 02 Oct 2005
Does anyone have any good ideas, hints, things they would have done differently, etc. as far as warm coats, gloves, hats, boots, etc. goes? We are trying to decide where to buy Ben's clothing from.

Thank you so much!

Welcome to the mission! 01 Jun 2004
Welcome to the mission Elder McDonald. Yeah, this site isn't all that well up to date I noticed myself. I think there's probably a handfull of us that would gladly take care of this website, the only problem being that most of us that are returned missionaries now are 2 years out of date in computer technology, or I'd have volunteered myself. Anyway, I'm Elder Nichols... or Josh now. I just got home three weeks ago. You're headed into a great mission. The mission president is awesome and there's a lot of good work to do. When you get there, tell everyone I said hi. =) You can e-mail me back if you want at Wildcard_16@hotmail.com I'd be more than happy to tell you all about the mission. Take care.

General Stuff 01 Jun 2004
Greetings to all! I received my Call on Friday, May 28th to serve in the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission. I enter the MTC on July 14th.

I noticed this site doesn't have much information, pictures, stories, etc. about the mission. If anyone has anything of interest to post about the mission I encourage you to do so.

BTW: I noticed that the mission network is looking for a webmaster for this site. If nobody takes the helm before I return from my mission, I'd be happy to.

Check out my site at http://www.joel-junior.com.

Take Care & God Bless!

What's it like? 28 Nov 2003
Our son James just received his call to Colorado Colorado Springs. He enters the MTC on Jan 28.
We would like to know what it is like there. Is it mostly a car mission or a bike mission. I ask because we wonder what type of overcoat to get him. Short for bikes or long for warmth.
Are there any other types of reccommendations not listed in the Mission booklet he received? Thanks for the help.
