While I physically had to leave the mission, I don't think the mission has ever left me. Barely a day goes by that I don't think about something or someone from that era. I loved my mission.
I married Viodelda the year after coming home. She is from La Chorrera, Panama and yes, we met on my mission and no, there was no hanky panky and yes, I did baptize her. We have four children, the youngest of whom graduated from high school in 2008 and we have four grandchildren who make it worth having raised the children to adulthood.
Viodelda is the Migrant Education Coordinator for the local school district and I am fortunate enough to get to practice my hobby fulltime(and get paid for it); that is caring for 20,000 hives of bees. My brothers and I have one of the largest bee businesses in the U.S. We have been truly blessed. Viodelda currently is serving in the YW presidency of our ward and I am the High Priests Group instructor, a calling that I really love.
I wonder if President Muren remembers teaching me the true meaning of "assume"? Thank you. I'll never forget. |
