Comments:
I am now living in Washington D.C. where I work for a non-profit called the Academy for Educational Development. I work on basic education projects in Guatemala and Pakistan and really enjoy being involved again with people in the developing world. One of the things I miss from Ecuador is the wild "pets" Halverson used to have in our apartment: the spider monkey who would sneak up and pounce on your chest or head during siesta, and the English-speaking parrot (well, he was learning). On the other hand, I am grateful to see that "quaker" has not become a popular hot beverage in America.
