This is an e-mail from President and Sister Nelson just in case everyone didn't get one:
July 4, 2005
To: All El Salvador San Salvador East Missionaries
Hi Everyone!
We’ll write this in English to see how you’ve all come in your English
training/re-training. Si no pueden entenderla, escribanos para
ponernos al
dia, y le responderemos en espanol.
Yes, we now have experienced the bittersweet experience of leaving El
Salvador, and returning to a changed world that we left behind 3 years
ago.
Six of our eight children were with us at the airport in Salt Lake
City,
plus their spouses and two of our three new grandchildren we didn’t
know.
We greeted many of our neighbors also upon arriving at our house, but
then
our children locked all of the house doors, and we spent the evening
catching up just with the family. It was really wonderfull!
The following day we got busy learning how to mow the lawns again, and
to do
repairs that hadn’t been done during these three years, and we felt we
were
adjusting very well again. However, we went to our City’s 4th of July
parade
on Friday night, and all of the missionaries from our area (zone?) were
in
the parade, and we wanted to run out and be part of them. It kind of
brought
tears to our eyes as well knowing that we are to just be the supporting
members now, but we have started working on some of our neighbors, and
hope
to invite the missionaries to teach with us soon.
We are well, and have been asked to speak this next Sunday, July 10,
2005 in
the Riverton 20th ward sacrament meeting. If you can come, we would
love to
see you! The sacrament meeting begins at 9:00 a.m., and is in the
Riverton
Stake Center located at 1900 W. 13400 So. The best way to come is to
exit
the I-15 freeway taking the Bangerter Highway going west right by the
state
prison and point of the mountain. You should then exit at Redwood Road
(1700 West) and go north (right if you’re coming from I-15, or left if
you’re coming on Bangerter from the West. About 2 blocks north, there
is a
semaphore (stop light) at 13400 South where you should turn west. The
church
is just over a block from there.
We would love to see you there, but if you can’t come, write us with
your
excuses (they must be original), and we’ll plan on a reunion in October
around the time of General Conference, If Elder Latu can get a bus
lined
up…….
Hasta la vista.
Abrazos,
Presidente y Hermana Nelson y Erica.

LDS QUOTE: |
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lords work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
