| The time Tuck and I got bashed out when we went to see John Jacobs and the Power Team:
Going to chrches other than our own was not an uncommon practice in the FTM. In fact it often came in handy when running into individuals who had seen you in their home congregation. In the spirit of this philosophy, myself, Todd Tucker, and a few others decided to attend the service of John Jacobs and the Power Team.
This was not your standard service as we soon found out. In addition to the flaming nunchucks and shattering huge blocks of ice, John Jacobs and co were quite adept at working anti-Mormon material into their sermon once they saw us. After sitting for what seemed like hours of "Joe Smith and his gold bible" the service finally ended and we made our way out of the arena. Despite feeling like we had just left an extremely hostile pro wrestling match, we made our way outside where we had the opportunity to answer several questions as well as meet our GQ quota for the entire week.
The moral of the story, I suppose is, try to avoid getting bashed out at other churches and make sure to keep those GQ's coming. |
