| Comments: We are serving as Welfare Missionaries in Jakarta but our calling as Employment Services Directors gives us a chance to travel all over Java. Therefore we have met many of the young elders and sisters as well as all of the senior couples now serving in Indonesia. We are currently conducting a pilot Intensive English Course for 6 returned Indonesian missionaries. The purpose of the one month 24/7 program is to bring their English up to a point where they can - if they want to - take and pass the English exam so they can attend BYUH. If they do not plan to attend BYUH it is hoped that their English skills will help them obtain better jobs in careers that will allow them to provide for their families and still have time to serve in leadership positions in the Church. | |
