1997 Dec 13 Dear Good friends, We send our love and greetings from Indonesia-The Isles of The Sea. Christmas seasons is really a good time to remembers all the goodness of all of you to us. I just returned toninght from our Saturday session of the Jakarta District Conference. Our theme is about strenghtening family. Presidents Djarot, Kentjana, Brother Jeff Rock, Fred Bassett, Steffi, Subandriyo, Sister Tan, and Elder Tan, The Area Authority spoke to us. It was wonderful spirit. Pres. Fred Bassett tried so hard to speak in Indonesian, and that was great. I think people enjoy his Indonesian more than the message. Due to the large attendance, we were putting two CCTV at the cultural hall and one CCTV at the ground floor. The Bandung members came by bus. From Bandung there came our old timers, such as: Brothers Afat, HanKing. In Bandung branch there are 5 expatriate families, these families work for Bechtel, US West, etc. Ex Elder Soeratman came tonight after very long absent in the church, he was offring the invocation. We rae teaching his wife and daughter, and plan for baptism the end of this month. We hope you are all feel peace and joy in preparing to celebrate the birth of the Savior.
