4 Jan 2000 - Jakarta Selamat pagi dari Jakarta! Apa kabar anda dan keluarga? Baik-baik saja ya...Keluarga kami baik juga. My brothers and Sisters, about a week ago, I submitted to the Asia Area Presidency a request for the firststake in Indonesia, which will be in Jakarta. We met all requirements to be a stake, so I know that it will be approved. I do not know when the creation of the stake will be done, however, we ask if the announcement could be made during President Hinckley visit to Jakarta. I feel that the road to stakehood has been started long ago when the first four elders landed at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport to begin the spreading of the gospel, and will continue forever. All of you have been the instrument and made it possible for the up coming historic event of the creation of the first stake of zion in this beloved and beautiful land of Indonesia. Now, my suggestion is: "it will be great if we could have at least one of the representative of the foreign return missionaries to be with us when the creation of the stake is made" If we could have more, that would be wonderful. The present of the "old" Elders or/and Sisters will bring spirit and good feeling among us and among you as you are part of the great efforts of bringing the gospel to our land.
