I have a Japanese business associate living in Tokyo. Recently I wrote to him and said the following:
"I have a book, called the Book of Mormon, that I want to give to you. It is written in Japanese and you will find it very interesting. It is the account of Jesus Christ visiting the American continent soon after his resurrection in Jerusalem. I'd like you to read it --and then you can better understand why we Mormons believe as we do and have such a love for the teachings of Jesus. Is it ok if I send it to you"?
Here is his reply, "Yes, thank you for your offer. I am buddhist, but if I read it, I will be able to understand you". |
