My parents Edgar A. and Marjorie J. (Mercer) Smith are converts to the church, and I grew up in Apple Valley/Rosemont, Buffalo, and Monticello, Minnesota. My parents and all 3 of us girls are active in the church, and sealed in the temple. 2 of the 3 daughters have served LDS missions. My parents now have 13 grandchildren that are all active! My twin sons (the oldest grandchildren) will be leaving on missions in the Fall 2018. I am joining this website in the hopes of finding our family’s missionaries, to thank them! Our missionaries names are Elder Carl Paxman and Elder Vernal Sorenson. They taught and baptized (technically my Uncle Dennis Mercer baptized them—-Dennis was the first convert in our family!) and they confirmed my parents on 3 August 1974. I am my parent’s oldest daughter, was only 2 years old at the time. It would make my parents SO happy to find them, as they are both in their late 70’s, and won’t live forever. |
