Mission Boundaries:
I do not have a large copy of the new (as of 2012) boundaries of the mission. The LDS Church News offers a small one. If you have a better one, please contact me.
A missionary's parent reports that the following stakes moved to the new Reno mission:
- Ely Nevada
- Elko Nevada East
- Elko Nevada West
The following stakes moved to the West mission:
- Logandale Nevada
- Mesquite Nevada
- Panaca Nevada
The Nevada Las Vegas Mission retains the southern and eastern Las Vegas stakes, and the North Las Vegas, Henderson, Kingman, and Lake Havasu stakes.
The below are the 2002-2012 mission boundaries, retained for historical reference.
Phil MacCabe '00-'02, who provided the above map, notes that as of 2002, the mission now includes Lake Havasu City, Parker, and Quartzite, Arizona, as well as Blythe and Needles, California.
Gerrit Smith '95-'97 writes regarding the boundary line between the two Nevada missions:
"I-15 north until I-15 and 95 meet. The border then follows 95 through the northwest corner of [Las Vegas] valley. Shortly outside of the Vegas valley, the border takes a turn due north all the way to the top of the state (passing just east of Winnemucca).
"The Nevada Las Vegas Mission now encompasses Mesquite, Pioche, Hiko, Ely, Elko, etc."
Deserts Saints Magazine publishes maps of southern Nevada stakes and meetinghouses in its annual guides. Also check out the Atlas of LDS Temples, Missions, and Stakes for maps of Nevada, California, and Arizona stakes.
