Came home, majored in Japanese at Stanford, got an MBA at BYU, DBA at HBS, been at Darden Business School UVA (Charlottesville Va home of Thomas Jefferson) for 33 years. Did high council, then stake president for 8 years, had a mid-life crisis, made a 90* turn, went inactive in church, but very active in life, written 16 books, more coming, 300+ business cases, same wife 36 years, 4 kids (1 boy 3 girls), boy has schizophrenia lives with us not on the Reagan induced street, three girls doing well, dog thin and happy, retiring next May 30th at 66. 2nd dan black belt in taekwondo, now doing Shotokan Karate (Japanese commands not Korean), play three kinds of golf (ancient pre-1900, hickory 1900-1935, and modern), eager to retire. Both knees rebuilt, one three times, might need a new hip, midriff tire too big but manageable. Still have happy memories about Japan (went back many times as consultant/professor). Steam trains to Niigata, Central Branch, Kofu, opening Nihonmatsu, Thanksgiving in the train station with Oreos, living in geshuku with raw eggs and hole in the floor bathroom, o-furo, Junkai, branch president, Okinawa, Fukuoka, Sendai (so sad about the tsunami), Tanabata, etc. Hope you all are well and thriving. Too much info? Ammari desu ka?

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
