Richard Dahl went to the Japanese Mission in March, 1953 in company with Milo Durfee, sailing from SFO on the SS Pres. Cleveland. Following a stop in L.A. we sailed on to HNL where Sister Eleanor Ono joined us enroute to Japan. Elder Durfee returned after two years to claim his G.I. Bill benefits and of course, Ono Shimai was not a 3 year missionary. Regarding Durfee Choro: He is deceased 11/19/1997, according to one of his sons who came to the Jordan River Temple baptistry some time back. He did live in the Kearns area before his death. |
