Comments:
Since 2005, I've worked for the State of Utah's Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. My work is primarily with the energy and transporation sectors, public and private. From 1994 to 2005, I did similar work for the State of Wyoming. Although I enjoy my job, a change of scenery would be nice. It's tempting to go back to school and discover a new direction in life, but it'd cost too much. It took too long to pay for graduate school!
With both of my married children within 30 miles, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren on a regular basis---a great blessing at this time and season of my life.
In a couple years I hope to be on another full-time mission, and it would be nice to be able to return to Japan. Time will tell.
ALSO, my new email address for home is pbersie@q.com. At work it's pbersie@utah.gov.
I don't know if this picture can be used by you in some manner for advertising our next reunion, but you're welcome to use it. It's of a group of us who departed together for Tokyo on March 19, 1963. From left to right, John Ramussen, Terry Nagata, Pat Burkholder Bersie, Mel Marker, and Kent Petersen. Missing are Earl Seeley, Armel Beardall, and Richard Chapman. Sister Bersie

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
