The above photo is from President Anderson taken at the 100th Anniversary celebration last fall in Yokohama. Of the 135 Japanese Saints who sacrificed nearly everything to go to the Hawaiian Temple in 1965, over 90% of them are still active!
President Anderson is very proud of that accomplishment, and should be. We plan to publish the whole story in Pres. Andersons own words about how the entire project came to be and the miracles that happened to make it a reality. ALL OF THE MEMBERS IN THE PICTURE ABOVE ARE PART OF THE ORIGINAL GROUP THAT WENT TO THE TEMPLE in 1965.
"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
