OK, here's the situation...
I have been nomadic for the past 10 years. However, I have spent most of my time in Winnipeg and Calgary working, going to school, and socializing.
I have worked/not worked at all kinds of different jobs for short amounts of time but managed to eventually settle into an office job at Bow Valley College for a few years. I was a Registration Officer focusing my attention on English as a Second Language students. I cherish my memories of this job because of the people I met from all over the globe. They inspired me as they shared their stories and developed their language skills. In only 40 weeks, many immigrant, refugee, and new Canadian students learned a new language while adjusting to a brand new culture. I was amazed by their determination and perseverance. In fact, it is because of those students, some friends, and a couple of coworkers (oh...and, of course, the spirit) that I gained the courage to quit a good job and go back to university.
My life did not turn out how I expected it to but I still feel the hand of my Father in Heaven guiding me along the path. This has been my greatest blessing. The Lord continually takes care of me.
Also, I am grateful for amazing, fun memories from the mission field and would love to connect with anyone from the good 'ole days. |
