It's unbelievable how much I've still been able to use my experiences from the mission. Several LDS families in Arizona are adopting children from Russia, so my husband and I have been teaching discussions. The fifth child we've worked with was just baptized. Tom served in the Ukraine and speaks like a native. We have two kids, Aleksandr and Kailey, and we make the occasional trip to Phoenix to visit the local Russian store for vafli, tvorog, and, of course, halva!!
Just added child #3 in January 06, Caleb.
Just added child #4 in June of 2010, Juliet. Also we found out Tom's cousin married a girl from Ukraine and have had fun starting to get to know her and practicing the Russian. |
