After leaving BYU I moved to the Washington D.C. area where I spent three tedious years translating Chinese for the Defense Department (NSA). While there I met Donna in one of the singles Wards and we got married about a year later. Our next step took us to Ithaca, NY where I completed my MBA at Cornell University, while Donna taught Nutrition at the same school. During the summer between years at Cornell we had a very interesting time living in Taiwan for a couple of months so I could do an internship with a bank there. It was very different being there as a "civilian". After business school we moved to Irvine California where I had a job with a bank doing trust work for the capital markets. Four years later we had the opportunity to come to Chicago and start a new business unit in a bank here and we have now been here eight years. Along the way we've been blessed with three daughters and have enjoyed many great teaching assignments in the church. |
