Comments: Ofa lahi atu mission Tonga,
I am the daughter of Bro. Marion and Sis. Ortell Wilson. I served as a youth in my family in the Samoan mission 1956-1959 in both areas of Suva, Fiji and Apia, Samoa. Bro. Wilson, Bros. Bigelow and Wall, and ten Samoan Elders on construction missions built the first LDS Chapel in Suva, Fiji...Berry Street, as I remember. My dearest family friends from fifty one years ago, are Tongan. I am looking for the birth place of Granny Tonga. Her maiden name is Katalina Tonga Paung. Her married name is Spaeth. Birth: on "the remotest little island of the Tongan group of islands, NivaTopuTapu." She is buried in New Zealand. Can anyone tell me more about this little island, a picture, a map, and is there or was there a branch or missionaries on that island?
Ofa 'atu,
Mary Kaye |
