Advice for packing 23 Mar 2013
We are so excited that my son just got called to the Kampala Uganda mission. We would love any advice you could offer. Especially what to pack, helpful items, medicines, clothing, suitcases, shoes?
Were you able to receive any packages that were shipped to you from home or is theft a problem?

Volunteer Opportunity 29 Apr 2010
My name is Allison Gardner and I am the co-founder of the Ungana
Foundation, a non-profit organization created during my time at Utah State
University. As a former missionary in East Africa, I thought you may be
interested in a volunteer opportunity that would take you back to such a
beautiful land. I am recruiting volunteers for our summer program in
Rwanda and Congo and would love to have members on our team that have been
to the region before, understand the cultures and customs, and love the
people. We will be there for the entire month of July, but you are welcome
to come for any length of time during the month. Please let me know if you
or someone you know may be interested and I would love to go into more
detail about the program with you. Please also check out our website and
blog from the most recent volunteer trip for more info as well. Hope to
hear from you soon!
Take care,
Allison

Madsen Bikes 18 Feb 2009
Hi.

I was wondering if you might be able to help me. I am currently doing
some research for an up coming philanthropist trip to africa. I am working
with a Salt Lake company called Madsen Bikes and we want to take some bikes
to africa to try and help people become for productive with their lives.
We understand that there are factories through africa that manufacture
things like briquettes that people will use to heat their homes or cook
with. Around the factories there are villages where people will travel
several miles to the factory to purchase some of the briquettes. Then they
will take them back to either their villages or the market and sell them.
Several trips are made through out the day in order to make enough money.
We at Madsen bikes feel that by providing our bikes will greatly increase
an individuals productivity. I am sending this email to you to ask for
some help. We are looking for and information that either you or the
former missionaries might have regarding the country and what is produced
or where they feel the greatest help is needed. I am not a former
missionary of any african mission so i can't register for the mission
sites. I served in Alabama and granted it is like another country from
time to time I am reaching out to other former missionaries for help with
this great project. Hopefully you can post this to the site along with my
email address and cell phone number so others can contact me. I would
greatly appreciate that.

Thank you in advance for your help.
