| It was in my first area, Kajjansi, I had just entered the mission field. Elder Andreambelo was my companion. We were teaching a guy by the name of John, an amazing man, the spirit really testified to him of the truth of our message. I remember walking at night in the dark to catch a taxi home. My companion and I couldn't stop talking about how powerful the spirit was in our teaching appointments, we were so happy. One night John said he wanted to do a play about the life of the prophet Joseph Smith and he would play the role of the prophet, he had such conviction. John and his family, his wife and 9 year old daughter were baptised. John worked as a mason on a hotel he spoke to his friends about the Gosple often. One day as we arrived in our area we got the news that part of the hotel had colapsed and both of our minds turned to John we searched for him everywhere. Eventualy we found him full of dirt and full of sadness. He had been called to another section that day, and the section of the hotel that he would be working on had colapsed, many of his friends died but he was protected. I will always remember him. I just hope he is still clinging to the light of the Gosple. |
