Got my bachelor's and master's in Linguistics from BYU (2005, 2009). For my bachelor's thesis I built an analogical model of the spelling-to-sound problem in English: Given all these other words with their spellings and pronunciations, if this word is spelled this way, how is it pronounced? For my master's, I used co-occurrence statistics from the Hebrew and Greek versions of the Old Testament to automatically extract a Hebrew-Greek glossary.
I'm now living in Springville, Utah, doing odd linguistic jobs, and looking for steady work so I can get un-broke before I apply to doctoral programs.
