Comments: Sister McBride was born in Scotland and moved with her family to Canada when she was 9 years old. Missionaries from Utah taught her family and she was baptized at age 14 along with her mother and sister. President McBride was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and met Sister McBride while attending University. On their first date, Sister McBride told him the Joseph Smith story. President McBride has served as a Branch Clerk, Branch President, Young Men's President, Scoutmaster, Bishop, Stake President's Counselor and as a counselor in the Canada Toronto West Mission. Sister McBride has served as a Gospel Doctrine teacher, Counselor in Relief Society Presidency, Primary President, Young Women's President, Public Affairs Co-ordinator and in the LDS Family Services as Area Co-ordinator of Birth Parent Specialists in Eastern Canada. The McBride's have seven children, two boys and five girls. Their youngest son, Jon, accompanied them on their mission. President McBride's education and career is in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting. He established his own management consulting firm, McBride Management Group in 1986. President McBride and his two sons enjoy participating in sporting activities especially hockey. He has coached his son's hockey teams for 20 years. Sister McBride enjoys woodworking, painting, pottery, gardening and interior design. |
