Things have been really crazy since I last posted. We welcomed our son; Timothy Gavin Leavitt, into this world on April 8, 2008. While I was still pregnant with him we found out that he had a heart condition and that he would need surgery after he was born. Since he had this problem we went to Edmonton, AB to deliver so that he could be taken over the the University hospital right away for close obsevation before and after his surgery. This news was hard to hear but with prayers and faith we got through it.

Gavin had his surgery the day after he was born. Surgery and recovery were just as the doctors had hoped and we were able to take him home 9 days after he was born. The great thing was that he came a week early too. After we got back to Medicine Hat we had to be admitted to the hospital off and on for the next 3 weeks because of complications and need for close observation. He is doing much better now. Gavin still has a couple of holes in his heart but the cardiologists are confident that they will continue to heal up on their own and he won't need to have another surgery to repair them. We are now just trying to help him gain some weight.

Rylee loves having a baby brother and is a great helper. Life is much more busy with two children but I know that that will slow down later. Very thankful for the gospel and the peace that the Lord has blessed our family with during this time.

Alanna
