| Comments: I moved from CT to FL about 2 months before being called to the SLC UT Mission. I went to the MTC on Feb. 21st 1980 arrived in the Mission field mid Mar. They split the Mission and created North and South Salt Lake Missions in July of 1980. I went North. Completed in Aug. of 1981. Met my husband Tom at Church and 1st date Feb 11, 1982 and married May 19th 1984 at Washington DC Temple. Had 1 child, a son born in May 1985. In 2000 moved to CT with Tom's job transfer. Our son David served a Mission in Long Beach CA from 2005-7. We have had many callings throughout the yrs. I enjoyed being a Stake Missionary for 15yrs. 12 yrs straight with a 3 yr. break as Primary 1st Coun.(1 yr.) & Stake R.S. Sec. (2 yrs). Became a Bishop's wife for 15 months before moving to CT. The calling we enjoyed the most is serving together in the Boston MA Temple as ordinance workers and all 244 of the Hartford CT Temple district who also serve in Boston Temple will be released on Oct 1st. We are finally having our own Temple in CT after waiting 23 yrs. from it's first announcement and then dropped for a while. We get to help with the Open House which starts Sept30-Oct22. Dedication is Nov.20th. We hope to serve until we retire to Prescott AZ sometime in the next 2 yrs. We also hope to serve a Mission or 2. We have been very blessed with my husband's job with the same company for 48 yrs. so he's having some concern's about leaving a job he really love's as a Engineer and is really close to the Hartford Temple. I Loved My Salt Lake North Mission and hope to reconnect with those from the past. Love Sister Stephanie Ballou Bare. | |
