Attended the U of U for 6 1/2 years after the mission, and finally got Bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
Got married to a gal who I met my first day of college at the U, who grew up in the Cottonwood Heights area.
After graduation, we moved back to the northeast quadrant of the Atlanta, GA region, where I am currently living and working.
I worked for a while in Windows-based support roles, but was able to shift back again to UNIX/Linux administration, and have been much happier professionally.
After trying to have children for more than a decade, we finally were expecting our first child in 2009; we lost her to premature labor at ~21 weeks in October 2009. We've been blessed to have two sons since then, born in September 2010 and January 2015.
My current hobbies include high-power model rocketry, Linux tinkering, ham radio, hobby electronics, and a smattering of woodworking and pistol marksmanship. We bought our first house in February 2008, so I suppose "apprentice handyman" is a hobby now, too. I am also an Assistant Scoutmaster for my older son's Scouts BSA troop, and the Treasurer for my younger son's Cub Scout pack.
My current church calling is assistant ward clerk.
My younger brother Daniel also served in SLC, in the SLC South mission just after it was created, from 1998 to 2000.
