I married my best friend. We met on a blind date; I think that is the only way I was ever asked out, thru trickery. But it worked!! We had a complete blast. Our first date was a double date to the Washington DC Temple. Everyone kept calling me Sister Kitchens. I was uncomfortable being called anything other than Sister Davis! They asked if we prayed about one another.....I should have prayed right then. A few months later....we were back in the DC Temple becoming Husband and Wife. Now I am a mother of 3 beautiful little girls. (not so little....one in High School next year)
I still think of many of my companions, Elders, friends and even Elders that made me furious!! I loved that time. I am able to teach many lessons that I learned on my mission to those I serve now. Sister Goins taught me about Lott’s wife and to "never look back" on mistakes. I made many mistakes and struggled feeling like I wasn’t the cookie cutter Mormon. I wish I had the wisdom that I have now and could serve all over with the same group of people. I wouldn't have been so stressed!!
I love the Spirit and still remember that it truly is the Spirit that matters most!!
I will never forget our training video..esp when I wasn't paying attention and flubbed the question. Great save Sister Leavitt!!
Life is life.............but the Gospel continues to be incredible. I love my family. I love that my children feel the Gospel in their lives so naturally. What a blessing. I have had many callings that challenged me and blessed my life...Relief Society Pres, Young Women Presidency, Primary and now Seminary!!
