Comments:
I just graduated with my BA in Art History from BYU - I have worked hard for that little piece of paper : ). My last semester I interned at BYU's Museum of Art and loved it!!!! This summer I was supposed to spend 7 weeks in Syria, Jordan, and Spain studing art from the Ottoman Empire. I was going to get to visit Petra, live with a Bedouin tribe, go to the desert oasis of Palmayra, and spend most of my time studying pearl inlaid furniture at the Azem Palace in Damascus (beyond awesome!!). Due to the unsteadiness of the Middle East the trip was canceled, however that same day I got a fabulous summer job in Registration, basically conservation of artwork, at the MOA which buffered the blow. Still, my foreign adventures are not over as this September (2006) I will head to Sotheby's Institute of Art in London to get my MA in Fine and Decorative Art.
As to my family, for those of you who followed the saga, my mom just received her endowment in August of 2006 - it is truly one of the greatest blessings that I have ever received. My dad is actually reading the Book of Mormon and believing it, he is contemplating receiving the priesthood which just amazes me. Truly the mission has been the greatest blessing ever in my life. Serving the Lord has just taken everything good and enhanced it ten times over - I just wish I could serve another one soon!!! I have never felt so much at home and content with my life than when I was able to serve on Temple Square I miss all you sisters and senior couples greatly!!! I also miss having the "job" of sharing with everyone what brings light, happiness, and pure joy into my life. Truly the gospel of Jesus Christ is a marvelous work and a wonder. There is absolutely no greater gift I could give to someone than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Who does not need Christ to guide their lives?
