MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTE

“But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.” (Alma 32: 27)

This scripture has very deep significance that we must study and ponder in order to apply it to our lives. Let us see: “if ye will awake and arouse your faculties.” What do these words mean? What are our faculties? Are they are not: to hear, to see, to know, to feel?

Will we be able to hear with clarity the guiding words of the Lord? Will we hear the questions of our investigators well enough to clarify them? Will we hear the whispers of the spirit when we doubt what our leaders say to us?

Will we see with clarity the path to follow every day? Will we see our investigators dressed in white to be baptized?

Will we know as the answers to their doubts because we have studied the scriptures and discussions every day? Will we know how to act when faced with temptations?

Will we feel an ardent desire of being better every day? To serve to the Lord with all our strength? Of not wasting even a second of this precious time that we have to serve us to him?

“Experiment upon my words.” In Doctrine and Covenants, section 84:88, the Lord is very clear and promises us beautiful things. “And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.” Is it possible that we don’t believe Him?

Moroni 7:33 also has a lesson that we should learn! “And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.”

It is our sincere desire that you will meditate upon these beautiful scriptures for your growth and fortification.

We love you and we desired to see you progress each day.

President and Sister Hoffmann

Thanks to al the missionaries that sent me beautiful cards for Mothers’ Day.

MESSAGE FROM THE ASSITANTS

In this month of May we had the privilege to enjoy the visit from Elder Bradford that fortified our testimonies. His main message was based on the Spirit and obedience.

Doctrine and Covenants 130: 20-21 “There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated- And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.”

He reminded us that we are in the mission mainly to learn to be obedient. We must not fail to take advantage of this opportunity. Let us serve the Lord with all our heart and the Father will give us the promised blessings.

We can learn much of the motto of the National Guard that says: “Work, work and more work.

Remember the scripture in Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Our time is already underway and we must achieve success.

He has also given us strength accompanied by spiritual guidance. Always understanding the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, when he said: “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (John 15: 16).

“And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.” (John 15: 27).

Not only were we for ordained for this great work, but also the Lord has selected to us to be his representatives. He trusts in us, it is time to demonstrate our love by means of our works.

We are ready to serve to you with much love,
The assistants,
Elder León and Elder Roberts

SUBJECTS FROM THE PRESIDENT

Elder Bradford left us very precious instructions for the good operation of our mission, and we want to communicate to you some modifications that we have made to the schedule of the mission office. Monday is preparation day for all the missionaries, including those of the office, so the office will work from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:30 A.M. to 5:00 p.m. This way, those who are authorized, must only call the office within this schedule.

Equally, only the missionaries or sisters who have an appointment with the president, will come to the office. Others must not come to the office. Their packages will be given in the district meetings here in Caracas, and to those of the rest of the mission, they will be made to arrive the same way in which they have been sent up to now.

We will thank you all to accept these instructions since this way we will be able to serve better, each one in our specific function. The Lord demands that we have house of order.

Doctrine and Covenants 88:119 “Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God.” We know that we can do it with your support. Thanks for everything that you do!

With love,
President Hoffmann

The historical secretary, Elder Smith, reminds you to fill baptismal recommends correctly, especially the person who reviews these recommends must make be careful to avoid errors. Recommends are still arriving where the year 1992 appears as the date of birth of the baptized person!

Elder Smith wishes to congratulate to the zones of Maturín and Guarenas who sent recommends correctly filled out. We hope that the others also do it. Thanks for your support in this.
