There have been certain problems with perceptions of the trip to the islands of Aruba and Curazao on the part of the missionaries. These trips are taken only in order to renew your visas, and they are not vacations from the mission, we wish that you cooperate with the people who direct these trips and that you are prepared for any misfortune which can arise in such. Any other activity in these trips is only a privilege and you must maintain a behavior adapted to your call.

Thank you for your cooperation. (Elder Meleiro and Elder Hanna)

We have been informed by some zone leaders that the correspondence sent by misionaries to their investigators or recent converts is not given to them by the misionaries that work in the corresponding zone. They have found letters on the floor, underneath the bed, or simply left anywhere. This leaves much to say of the missionaries and their lack of integrity in giving a message of love and fortification to recent converts. Some day perhaps it could be the letter of some of You.

3 Nephi 14: 12 “Therefore, all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them, for this is the law and the prophets.”

Dear elders and sisters: (the most powerful in the world)

The month of December is one of the most beautiful months of the year, and to that she reigns a great spirit of love and peace among all men. Families meet and share their deeper feelings, etc. It is truly the season to give all our love.

Mosiah 15: 11 “Behold I say unto you, that whosoever has heard the words of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord—I say unto you, that all those who have hearkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and have looked forward to that day for a remission of their sins, I say unto you, that these are his seed, or they are the heirs of the bkingdom of God..” (prophet predicted this occurance)

And we have the great privilege to continue this perpetual work. 1 Neph 13: 37 “And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be

D&C 128: 19 “Now, what do we hear in the gospel which we have received? A voice of gladness! A voice of mercy from heaven; and a voice of truth out of the earth; glad tidings for the dead; a voice of gladness for the living and the dead; glad tidings of great joy. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those that bring glad tidings of good things, and that say unto Zion: Behold, thy God reigneth! As the dews of Carmel, so shall the knowledge of God descend upon them!”

Every month should be for us like the month of December since our gospel is one of love, a gospel of peace and hope. Ether 12: 4 “Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.”

The month of January is very appropriate for initiating new goals, even stronger than the previous ones. That helps us to elevate ourselves and to be near the Spirit. We advise that you review your individual goals and comradeship goals to begin the year with excellent goals. ( Moroni 7:48 – Moroni 10:32)

Sister Hoffmann and I are so grateful and happy for all that you do. For your work, for your example to represent the Lord worthily and faithfully, and for many other things, truthfully, we love you all, and we repect what you are. We wish you a very merry WHITE CHRISTMAS.

T. Hoffmann

NOTE: Remember that the night of the 24th and the 31st of December, you must spend in your apartments, and you must be there no later than 7:30 p.m. Prepare a good supper and family home evening at the level of the district or the companionship.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

MESSAGE FROM THE ASSISTANTS

Dear elders and sisters:

In this time of Christmas, we want to thank you for your work during this year. It is during Christmas time when all the families are at home, and it is the best time to find and teach. We want to have a “WHITE CHRISTMAS,” not with snow but with baptisms. It is easy to think of our own families, friends, home and little by little we become very home sick! We can’t share the glad tidings of great joy if we are not happy. We have to sing, open our mouths and teach in order to be happy during Christmas.

The new year is coming soon, and we want to begin January with power. In order to have success tomorro, we must prepare today. Set goals and plan. These are two important bases to have success. “I have often said that one of the greatest secrets of missionary work is work! If a missionary works, he will get the Spirit; if he gets the Spirit, he will teach by the Spirit; and if he teaches by the Spirit, he will touch the hearts of the people and he will be happy. Work, work, work—there is no satisfactory substitute, especially in missionary work.” (Ezra Taft Benson, “Keys to Successful Member-Missionary Work,” Ensign, Sept. 1990, 2)

The best satisfaction is from a job well done! The best gift we can give is to share our testimony!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

With love,
Elder Norman and Elder Slater
