Comments: It is great to have this site. I am glad I found it. It's been exactly 24 years since my mission, but I have been back to Hong Kong twice. The first time was with BYU study abroad to study Mandarin in Nanjing, and the second time was to attend the Hong Kong Temple dedication. What a great experience. I hope to go back soon. Hong Kong has changed, but not as much as China! I love Hong Kong, China, and the entire Far East. I have been to Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. As you can see, I love to travel and would love to serve in the area again when I retire. I hope I remember my skills in Cantonese and Mandarin.
I am from Utah, but got called up to serve the country in St. Louis two years ago. I am a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves, and the country needs me here. It is like a mission of sorts. I am in the High Priest Group Leadership in the ward here, but over the years I usually served in the Young Men's and Primary organizations, probably because of my elementary school teaching experience.
On the personal side, I have a beautiful wife, Roberta, and seven children from age 20-12. My son is preparing to go on a mission next summer. I hope he goes to Japan, since he is 1/4 Japanese. Of course, if he gets the call to Hong Kong I will support that too!
