It has been over 29 years since I left the mission field, but I still try to keep close ties with the members of the church from the areas where I served. My wife and I spent 3 weeks in Berlin, Hannover and Heide in 1981. When the wall came down in 1989, the Bartsch family from the East Berlin branch paid a visit to our home in Sacramento. We have had 2 of the daughters of Karl-Gerhard Fiedler from Neumuenster stay with us during two separate summers and 5 years ago, Karl-Gerhard and his wife visited us in California. My daughter and I spent Christmas 1999 with the Fiedlers and this summer (2004), my wife and 2 youngest boys spent a week with the Fiedlers.....After my mission, I met and married Dana Fox (we celebrated our 28th anniversary this year). We have 6 children and 2 grandchildren. |
