I served in
the Managua 2nd Branch from May 1970-Aug. 1970 when we were still part
of the Central American Mission. I was the first Branch President of
Managua 2 and we met in a rented house in Bello Horizonte in the east
part of the city our towards the airport (Las Mercedes at the time).
I have fond memories of Managua. The missionaries serving in central
Managua stayed above the famous Tienda Vega. We enjoyed the
pre-earthquake beauty of the city on the lake. Alot of water under the
old banana tree since those golden days in Nicaragua...Oh well enuf of
the sentimentality... |
