In the first month that I was in the Philippines, I lost 60 pounds, but not the way in which most American elders do it. After four months of tests and difficulties, I was told by the doctors that I shouldn't eat rice. When I stopped, all my symptoms went away. It was determined that I would not be able to effectively serve on Negros without being able to eat rice, and so I finished my mission in Michigan.
Currently, I live in Las Vegas, NV with my wife and practicing law. We are expecting our first child which should arrive in September 2007. |
