The Untimely Passing of Elder Dillon Jenkins 06 Feb 2005
I received today the sad news of the passing of Elder Dillon Jenkins from Elder Satterfield. I quote from his e-mail:

"I just got a call from Elder Dillon Jenkins mother this morning (February 6, 2005). She informed me that Elder Jenkins passed away Friday after falling asleep driving his truck to work. The truck rolled and he wasn't able to recover from the wreckage. He was married and had a 2 year old son. Services are being held Saturday February 12, 2005 at the church in Alamo, NV. The viewing will be at 10:00 and service at 11:00. His son will never know his father and the family is requesting missionaries or friends to send letters containing stories to the family so that he can have those to read as he grows up. The family's address is as follows:

"Deanna Jenkins (Mother)
P.O. Box 181
Alamo, NV 89001"

It is always sad to hear of the passing of someone with whom we labored in the Lord's vineyard. That he is not the first of our fellows to leave us does not lessen the loss we feel. That he will not be the last should not darken our spirits. That he knew of and proclaimed the Truth and is prepared for the next stage in his journey should comfort and please us all.
